Barcelona to host Real Madrid in the first El Classico of the season

News update for the football lovers all around the world from LaLiga. The schedules and fixtures for 2018-2019 season of LaLiga has been announced. At the opening day of the season, last season’s second place finisher Athletico Madrid will be travelling to Valencia for their opening game. Valencia impressed everyone and finished fourth last season.

LaLiga Champions Barcelona will begin their 2018-19 title defence against Alaves at the Camp Nou at August 19th. Real Madrid will play against Getafe FC on their first game at their home ground Santiago Barnabeu when the LaLiga season starts on the weekend of August 18-19.

Ernesto Valverde (Barca’s coach) will be looking forward to drive Barcelona to the eighth LaLiga crown in last 11 years. He has a tremendous record in the LaLiga as a manager of Barcelona in his first season. His campaign was rock solid and ended the season with only one defeat against Levante (5-4) in their intermediate game last season.

As the LaLiga Schedule was released, we also get the schedule of the upcoming El-Classico matches between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Earlier, the chief of LaLiga Javier Tebas, who said, it would “not ideal” if second El Classico between Real and Barca happened last season as Barca had already won the La Liga title, although these two mighty giants will face off earlier this season of La Liga.

Barcelona will host Real Madrid in the first El Classico of the 2018-19 season at Camp Nou on October 28 as confirmed by the Spanish football federation on Tuesday.

Real who finished third last season in La Liga will host the second fixture of El Classico at their Santiago Barnabeu Stadium on 3rd March.

The other notable fixtures will be the Spanish capitals Derbies between Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid. The first will be played at Santiago Barnabeu on September 30 and the other at Athletico’s Wanda Metropolitano on 10th of February.

Other matches to look out for in the opening weekend will be Villarreal vs Real Sociedad, Hueca vs Eibar and Celto Vigo vs Espanyol.
