1. Rajasthan Royals (2008)
The first edition of the Indian Premier League was also one of the most entertaining. There were big franchises with big names and Rajasthan Royals were just underdogs.
Nobody expected them to win. But Rajasthan led by Shane Warne overcame every obstacle at and defeated Chennai Super Kings in the final match at DY Patil Stadium by 3 wickets. Yusuf Pathan became Man of the match.
2. Hyderabad Deccan Chargers (2009)
The second season of the IPL was dramatic and the former Hyderabad franchise called the Deccan Charger owned by the Deccan Chronicle holdings Ltd. won the tournament.
Deccan faced Royal Challengers Bangalore in the finals played at Johhanesburg, South Africa. Deccan led by Australian legend Adam Gilchrist defeated RCB by 6 runs. Anil Kumble for his terrific performance became Man of the Match.
3. Chennai Super Kings (2010)
The third season saw the rise of Chennai Super Kings who won their first IPL trophy that year. The yellow squad led by MS Dhoni finally tasted victory after losing against Rajasthan in the first season.
Chennai faced Mumbai in the finals where they defeated Mumbai by 22 runs in their own homeground. Suresh Raina for his epic knock of 57 runs became Man of the Match and Sachin Tendulkar was chosen as the Man of the tournament.
4. Chennai Super Kings (2011)
Chennai Super Kings is really a force to be reckoned with. In the first 4 seasons, they had 3 appearances in the finals. In 2011, they won back to back titles. This season was different as 2 more teams were introduced this season.
The final match took place in the MA Chidambaram Stadium between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore where Chennai defeated RCB by 57 runs. Murali Vijay for his brilliant knock of 58 runs was chosen Man of the Match and Chris Gayle became Player of the tournament.

5. Kolkata Knight Riders (2012)
Shahrukh Khan owned Kolkata Knight Riders won the fifth season of the IPL. 2 times back to back champions Chennai once again reached to the finals in quest of their third concurrent title, but couldn’t cross over the KKR wall.
Sourav Ganguly led KKR squad defeated Chennai by 5 wickets. Manvindar Bisla for his 89 runs knock became the Man of the Match and Sunil Narine became the Player of the tournament.
6. Mumbai Indians (2013)
This was Mumbai Indians first title and they won it in style. Guess who they defeated in the finals? Yes, they defeated Chennai Super Kings to win their first title in the IPL.
The team is owned by the richest Asian businessman Mukesh Ambani and is led by Mr Hitman Rohit Sharma, who has led this team to the most coveted victory. Mahela Jayawardene was their coach that season. They defeated Chennai by 23 runs and Keiron Pollard became Man of the Match while Shane Watson was chosen Man of the tournament.
7. Kolkata Knight Riders (2014)
In 2014, Kolkata won their second title. With Gautam Gambhir as their captain and Jacques Kallis as their head coach, Kolkata seemed invincible that year. They defeated Kings XI Punjab in the finals at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium by 3 wickets.
Manish Pandey for his knock of 94 runs in 50 balls became the Man of the Match. Glenn Maxwell from Punjab became the Man of the tournament.
8. Mumbai Indians (2015)
This was Mumbai Indians second title under the leadership of skipper Rohit Sharma and their opponents in the finals played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata was once again was Chennai Super Kings who were defeated by the Mumbai Indians by 41 runs.
Rohit Sharma for his 50 runs in just 26 balls became the Man of the Match while Andre Russell was chosen as the Man of the tournament.
9. Sunrisers Hyderabad (2016)
Sunrisers Hyderabad is the reincarnation of the fallen Deccan Chargers franchise. They came into power with the team filled with world-class players. In 2016, Sunrisers Hyderabad led by David Warner defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs in the finals to become the champions.
Ben Cutting for his 2 wickets and 39 runs was chosen Man of the Match and Virat Kohli of RCB was chosen as Man of the tournament. Tom Moody was Hyderabad’s head coach for that season. Although, 2 teams didn’t participated in the tournament as Chennai and Rajasthan were banned from IPL for 2 years.
10. Mumbai Indians (2017)
Mumbai Indians became the most successful IPL teams by winning their third IPL title in 2017. The team was led by Rohit Sharma and they defeated Rising Pune Supergiants by just 1 run in an intensely competitive match.
Krunal Pandya for his 47 runs became the Man of the Match. And Ben Stokes became the Man of the tournament. Jaydev Unadkat’s terrific bowling was one of the reasons behind Mumbai’s success in the 10th season.
11. Chennai Super Kings (2018)
Chennai Super Kings made a comeback last season after missing the IPL for 2
MS Dhoni brought his charisma to the field. In the final match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai defeated them by 8 wickets. Shane Watson scored a brilliant 117 runs in the final match and became Man of the Match while Sunil Narine was chosen Man of the tournament.
