India’s Probable Players List for World Cup 2019

Almost every cricket pandit has predicted – India vs England final at the Lord’s after checking and analyzing their terrific performances in the recent past.

Although, India is still struggling with picking their best 15 members squad for the biggest event in cricket history. The ongoing series against Australia has revealed their pros and cons.

While, the selectors have already booked majority of spots, there are still some spots left to be occupied.

Keeping all that in mind, let’s take a look at the probable 15 member Indian squad for the ICC World Cup 2019.

Openers – Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant

Undoubtedly, Rohit Sharma will be in the squad and will be the first choice opener. He is the only player other than MS to have played most World Cups. He played in 2007 world cup. He is the master of disaster with the amazing batting performances and have proved time and again that he is a vital and integral part of the Indian squad.

Shikhar Dhawan has always performed tremendously in the big tournaments especially organized by ICC. His hardcore batting led India winning the 2013 champions trophy. Though India didn’t win the world cup 2015 he gathered 412 runs at an average of over 51. He will definitely be India’s second opener.

In case there is an injury or something, teams always travel with an extra expert opener. There are other openers like KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane but given they haven’t played in some time and are out of form, selectors may go with Rishabh Pant who is in-form currently.

Middle Order – Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav

The captain of the team and the best player in the world Virat Kohli will without a doubt be a part of the squad. His unreal energy on field and his magnificent performances will lay a foundation and inspire other batsman and the whole team to perform better.

Ambati Rayudu has risen mostly from the last world cup. The Hyderabad’s stylish batsman helped Chennai win the IPL 2018 title and since then has contributed many match winning knocks for the Indian national squad. He has performed well against Windies, Australia and New Zealand in last 8 months and has almost confirmed his seat in the Indian squad.

Kedhar Jadhav is a man of many talents. Although, he has been out due to injuries for a majority of 2018 but now he is back and good as new and will definitley be included in the world cup squad. He is more than an all rounder. He can play match-winning knocks, scalp wickets for his team with his off-spin in middle overs and can be behind wickets too if needed. India won’t let go of a player with such talent.

Wicketkeepers – MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik

Is there any doubt regarding this? MS Dhoni will be Indian first choice wicket keeper. He is also a prolific batsman at no. 5 who can play situation accordingly, he can be calm and can hit sixes at will. The greatest Indian behind the wickets is amongst the cricekters who might consider retiring after the world cup 2019 and he would want to make his last world cup a glorious one.

Dinesh Karthik will be added to the team considering this is going to be a big tournament and the management could opt to rest Dhoni for a few matches and Karthik could be behind the wickets then and he is a great batsman also, so he might be included.

All Rounders – Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja

Hardik Pandya is India’s most prolific all rounder right now. He has solidify his position in team with his uncanny ability to hit sixes and take wickets and save runs altogether. He has become one of the best all roudners in the world and will be included in the team.

Well, he can bat at any position and can bowl all ten overs like a permanant bowler and can be exceptional in the fielding as well. Wouldn’t be wrong to say India’s search for a stable all rounder is over now.

Ravindra Jadeja has been out of form with his batting and not very consistent with the bowling as well. But we all know, he is a part of India for a long time and can perform anywhere. He is also the best Indian fielder and will find his form very soon.

Spin Bowlers – Yazuvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav

India is known for their spin bowling and Yazuvendra Chahal is one of the best spin bowlers in India currently. His googlies have been tough to read for batsmen and he can also do variations with ball’s speed. Most England’s pitches are spin friendly and thus his abilities will be necessary.

Kuldeep Yadav has become the Indian necessity in the past year. He has ensured his spot in the team with his googlies and spot bowl which has become the nightmares for the batsmen around the world. He is also the 3rd only indian bowler to pick a hat-trick in ODI. He along with Chahal will be Indian spin attack.

Fast Bowlers – Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami

Bhuvi has been the starting Indian bowler for a long time now and he is also one of the most consistent and economical bowler for India. His ability to swing the ball in both ways will confuse the batsmen and his lethal combination of pace with swing can be very beneficial for India.

India has made a name for winning matches in death overs and it would be nothing without our own death over specialist Jasprit Bumrah. His ability to throw accurate yorkers along with decoy slower ones has made him a real nightmare for the batsmen. He is also the no. 1 ODI bowler so Indian team can’t really go off without him.

Mohammed Shami has also made a comeback from his personal chaos in his life with allegations regarding his extra-marital affairs but he hasn’t let his personal issues come into his game. Infact, he has been more consistent, focused and reliable following the scandal. He will definitely join the Indian squad.
