Copa America Champions List

Since its inception in 1916, there have been many champions. Although, last few years have witnessed the dawn of many underdogs like Chile who won back to back Copa titles in 2015 and 2016. Portugal also won Euro Cup in 2016 and Croatia reached all the way to the finals of the World Cup 2018. So, chances are there could be many surprises waiting for us in the Copa America 2019 Brazil.

Uruguay undoubtedly is the most successful team in Copa America history with 15 titles to their name, closely followed by Argentina who won 14 titles. Brazil with 8 titles is at third spot.

Paraguay, Peru and Chile have won 2 titles each. While Colombia and Bolivia have won the title once.

Copa America 2019 Tickets

The 2019 Copa America Tickets sale has already been started from 10th January of 2019 with tickets price starting from 60 reais which are roughly $16.20.

A total 7 lakh and 70 thousand tickets were issued for the Copa America 2019 while 228,000 tickets were put on sale at the very start on copaamerica.com website.

If you hustle up, there could still be some tickets left but they might be very costly as of now. The Director of Operations, Agberto Guimaraes released a statement that a very high number of audience is expected for the 2019 Copa America by the organizing committee, considering the full stadiums in Brazil during the world cup 2014.

Copa America 2019 Favourites

Last Copa America took place in 2016, since then a lot has changed. Chile who won back to back titles will come back as a strong contender but they are being eyed as the favourites to win the title.

The 3 top teams that are the favorites to win the title this year are – Argentina, Brazil an Uruguay. There performance in the world cup 2018 wasn’t very good but that wouldn’t stop them from performing good in the Copa America.

Argentina has always stand up at the Copa America. Even last 2 times, they went all the way to the finals but lost, unfortunately. But they seem more focused and determined, that’s why there are good chances for them to win this season.

Brazil will be playing with homeground factor plus they will have crowd support. Their team is also balanced and mix together all these elements, they could win this season. Let’s see if they could deliver as well.

Uruguay is also being eyed as the favorites for this competition. They have 15 Copa America titles to their name which is the most. This year Luis Saurez and Edinson Cavani will be carrying their hopes.

Chile, although they are the defending champions, are still not being considered as the favorites because of their performances since in the world cup and other competitions. But they have always performed their best in the Copa America competitions and I would still consider them as the favorites for the Copa America 2019.
